RIF Labs has announced the integration of its public block chain RSK Smart Contracts on Microsoft's Azure Marketplace. The RSK Smart Contract Network is an open source platform designed to extend the functionality of Bitcoin through intelligent contracts. The Azure Marketplace is an app store for Microsoft's cloud computing service.
Prior to integration, RIF Labs customers needed to deploy local servers while manually setting up and managing nodes to run the blockchain. Adding RSK Smart Contracts to the market allows users to set up an RSK Blockchain network through Azure in minutes.
Adrian Eidelman, strategist at RSK and CTO at RIF Labs, believes that by integrating with Microsoft's marketplace, DApp developers can focus on product development after determining node deployment.
"DApp developers can now focus on developing their product because they no longer have to worry about setting up and maintaining the node," Eidelman said in a corporate statement Bitcoin Magazine, "Microsoft support will be critical to accelerating the adoption of RSK technologies and the Bitcoin ecosystem."
RSK Smart Contracts is the latest public blockchain supported by the Azure Marketplace.
Sajan Parihar, Director of Microsoft Azure, explained why the Azure Marketplace is so important to developers.
"Through the Microsoft Azure Marketplace, customers around the world can easily find, buy and deploy partner solutions they can trust, all certified and optimized for use on Azure," said Parihar in the statement. "We are pleased to welcome RSK Smart Contracts in the growing Azure Marketplace ecosystem."
The integration of RIF Labs into Microsoft will continue to be critical in launching the blockchain as new protocol implementations are launched for the RIF operating system. The simpler setup of nodes offers the possibility to extend the RSK network to lower the cost of the nodes, and leasing storage space to the node itself could allow developers to obtain mining permits.
In 2018, RSK Labs was acquired by RIF Labs, a takeover in which the intelligent contract platform expanded beyond Bitcoin's blockchain.
